Learning.. Screen Play Writing Related Stuffs


Lets Discuss something about screen play and its related stuff here...i am tryiing to write some thing continously about this in my blog bcoz i myself a student who learns about film making and it related stuff every day so by posting and recall or revise my own knowledge is something helpful for me as well as those who are aspiring to become a screen play writer or film maker would be help ful for them .

A story told in Pictures is called Screen play.

Start with The Camera Shot terms which are often mentioned/used in SPW(Screen Play writing)

Close up shot : camera கிட்டத்தில் பார்ப்பது

Close shot : கொஞ்சம் விலகி தள்ளி பார்ப்பது

Two shot : இரேண்டு தலைகள்

Three shot : மூன்று தலைகள்

Medium close up : இது கிட்டையும் இல்லம...துரமும் இல்லமா இடைப்பட்ட தூரம்

Long shot : இது இயற்க்கை காட்சி scene kamikka athigam use pannuvanga

Full shot : எல்லா கதாபாத்திரமும் கேமிரா பார்ப்பது.

Dolly tracking shot : கேமிரா மூவ் அகுரது (mostly wit one character)

Dolly in : ஒரு பொருள் அல்ல ஒரு கதாபாத்திரத்தையோ நேருங்குவது

Reverse angle : First நம்ம வெச்ச கேமிராக்கு நேர் எதிரா கேமிரா வைக்கிறது

Pan : Methuva camera vechu Frame increase Panrathu

Process shot : veyra ethachum padathula irunthu scene cut panni podrathu (bitu mathree??!! hehe)

Split screen: orey frame la minimu erendu camera view kamikirathu

Zoom : long short la irunthu close up short ku veygama varathu

Insert: ulley insert panra close up

Apart from camera shot realted terms the screen writer should familiar and known with the terms like Fade In, Fade out, INT, EXT, DAY, NIGHT, VOICE OVER terms..

FADE IN : meylla slowa oru shot'a or scene'a start panrathu

FADE OUT : meylla slowa oru shot'la or scene'la irunthu vilaguvathu

CUT: oru shot la irunthu innoro shot ku odaney takunu maruvathu it means erendu shot kum time diff illai nu artham like "athey samaiyam" "appothu" nu pesum pothu solvome la, itha than cut panni kamikurome nu film making la soluvome

DISSOLVE: oru shot la irunthu veyra oru scene ku step by step'a maruvathu

"itha time marum pothum...place mathum pothum use pannuvanga"

INT : interior la scene nadakutha

EXT : exterior la ecene nadakutha

DAY : pagala nadakutha

NIGHT: rathre la nadakkutha

Lets discuss later more about the techniques and tips about good SPW now i wil tell u something tht u guys to know very related to SPW tht is Screen play writing softwares and Registering the screen plays.

DONT WASTE ur money in registering t scripts and buying Software's at ur initial stages of learning screen play writing techniques

Soft ware wont help to make better screen plays at t end its only our Creativity and method of story telling is going to give a result.

I always prefer writing screenplay by my own hand rather than in word pad.

I feel Flow of writing is coming only when i write by my own hand not by typing in key board any way its just a illusion but it depends on person do as u like...

apart from this there are lot of softwares available in market but that are costly and professional the we need not want to buy at now

eg:- Movie makers, Final draft..etc.,
