One of the worlds best well known classic movie is God father its never told before story and theme stimulates the brain of every film makers to raise the question themselves that why we couldnt able to make or think before even close to this ever green classic as like the legendary mario puzo-francis copola combo in the world cinema. The observation of real characters into detail and the social structure as made this as possible for Maria puzo not really for others.

1)Nayagan-1987 (Tamil) / (Nayakadu in Telugu):

It is listed in Times Magazine's one of the all time classic movies in the world and even won many awards nationally as well Let me start with my experience with this movie at First when i watch this movie actually i have not known any thing about Original God Father Movie/Novel ( strange isn't it?? it happens if u r living in india) so i was mesmerised by the performance of actors ,seeing stunned about the story and plot of this movie. In fact i argued with many of my friends that no one can dare to make like this movie in india even in the world other than Mani ratnam (forgive me, Mario Puzo-Francis cupola)

But after watching God Father i was totally upset and angry about the director Mani ratnam like anything. In fact i totally lost my hope of all indian creators that they able to create Originals with out copying from western movies Bcoz the so called best director of India told in many of his interviews tht this Nayagan movie story is a adoption of real life Indian don Varadaraja mudaliyar was once lived in Mumbai. How no scholars have not raised any question against him??? that how the real life don varadaraja mudaliyar was experienced the same situation in his life as like what Don Vito coreleone and Antonio Coreleone have experienced or faced in God father story Bcoz of this great lie of ding dong mani still his fans are blabbering all over the place tht Nayagan is based on Varadaraja mudaliyar's life story

After watching the special premiere of this movie Don varadaraja mudaliyar said "i was not that nice a person like what was shown in the film." this statement clearly tells how far the director studied the real life of varadaraja mudaliyar only thing the director took from his life is "running away from home and traveling in a train without ticket from TN to Mumbai: living in Dhaarawi slum, doing smuggling, becoming don" thts it.

Bcoz of a Friend's compulsion a hero unwillingly accepted to going for red light area and meeting a childish innocent girl as a prostitute and he pity for her, slowly love develops between them as showed in Nayagan

This same structure of the basic love story line tht we have already scene in Balu mahendra's Ever green classical Tamil movie Moonram Pirai-1983 and in Hindi it is remade as Sadma

Rest of all what he did is.. cut as many scenes from god father and edit with the scenes which i mentioned above presented with some unmemorable performance of great actor Kamal with great llayaraja music and Writer Bala kumaran's dialogues. This is the reason for the great success and immortality of this movie.

*Scene where Velu Naiyakar (Kamal) does rituals for his wife’s funeral all his rivals getting killed similar to killing of all enemies of the family when michael corleone performs rituals to baptize(to become godfather) his sister’s kid in church.

*One reddiar brother being killed in same fashion as tattaglia’s head gets killed while having sex with a prostitute. and reddiar brother getting killed in the same way as carlo gets killed in the car by clemenza.

He should hav atleast changed the killing method for the sake of original creativity to avoid copying scene by scene but this so called India's Best director copied even "Method of Killing too"

*A Police man (ARS) comming and asking nayakar to avenge the people who raped her daughter similar to Amerigo bonasera the undertaker askin the don to take revenge on the people who assaulted his daughter while trying to rape her and many more but this is more than enough to question its originality

Times Magazine list of worlds best movie list lost its credibility by selecting this copy cat movie and in my opinion Nayagan in all time worlds best movie is highly questionable??!!! It is more close to an copy than a inspiration in simple words Mani is a good cut copy edit paste'r :)
